Message	Apparently the government has made a requirement for EDRs - black boxes. There's nothing that says that these EDRs are interfaced to GPS or even have a communication antenna. Those are just paranoid conclusions that the author has jumped to. This guy has read 1984 one too many times. Read the 2nd paragraph again. He says that when combined with GPS, EDRs "COULD" transmit data. Who cares? The same thing could be said about ECUs. If the government wants to track our speed with GPS, they don't need EDRs to do it.
